Hello, and a very warm welcome to The Therapeutic Camper.
I'm curious about you and what is happening for you, how you are feeling and we can explore this together within the warm, safe, non-judgemental space of therapy.
My name is Val and I am a student MBACP registered trainee practitioner, and will be qualified in Summer 2024.
Everybody needs and deserves a helping hand from time to time and it can take a lot of courage and bravery to make that step.
As well as being a BACP L4 counselling student, I am also a trained volunteer Childline Counsellor since 2021. I also have the opportunity to sit on the Steering Group for Good Practice with the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy).
Utilising my previous working experience in social housing and education, together with my personal experience of trauma and neurodivergence, and my BACP Counselling training combined, helps me to be present and non-judgemental for my clients.
When you book in-person sessions, you have an option of Canine Therapy support, as our dog is a registered therapy dog with Canine Concern.
If this is something you may be interested in, please mention this in our initial consultation chat.
Camping and being outside in nature provides many well-being benefits, but also it is also very versatile and flexible.
I wanted to take the positive elements of this and use them in the therapeutic space, required for therapeutic relationship to be created and nurtured.
Human's can only grow when they feel safe, so a therapeutic space which is non judgemental, with the ability to build trust and safety for clients and the counsellor is central to our work together.
